Road noise criteria

• DZ 6806 Acoustics – Road traffic noise (PDF, 2.25MB) (this is only a draft standard which is subject to change, and should not be used for formal noise assessments).
• Transit New Zealand’s Guidelines for the Management of Road Traffic Noise.

Road noise prediction

• Calculation of Road Traffic Noise (CRTN). This is only available in hard copy from TSO, ISBN 0115508473
• Land Transport New Zealand Research Report 326: Road Surface Effects on Traffic Noise: Stage 3 – Selected Bituminous Mixes

Construction noise

• New Zealand Standard NZS 6803:1999 Acoustics – Construction noise is available from Standards New Zealand.
• British Standard BS 5228-1:2009 Code of practice for noise and vibration control on construction and open sites – Part 1: Noise can be purchased from the BSI Group.
