Noise barriers (bunds and walls) are probably the most widely recognised form of noise mitigation used by the NZTA. A range of resources are available to assist in the design of barriers:

  1. Noise Barrier Design Guide - A guidebook has been produced to aid NZTA staff and contractors with the design, construction and maintenance of noise barriers.
  2. Case Studies - Recent noise barrier case studies are presented where key lessons learnt are discussed.
  3. Suppliers - A list of noise barrier suppliers has been compiled with summary product details and any locations where the product has been used on NZTA projects.
  4. Cost Calculator - A calculator will be available to estimate the cost of a noise barrier, for a given construction.
